#54-A42 10.2x13 Dutch KVT rug, hand knotted wool, Netherlands, ca.1940, signed and numbered KVT , Koninklijke Vereenigde Tapijtfabrieken, (The Royal United Carpet Factories), rich tone on tone reds with a navy border, camel, light green, Prussian blue, a European version of an antique Ottoman medallion design, with a late deco flare, thick pile, near mint condition, rare $15,000.00

Dutch KVT rug 54-A42

The KVT was founded in 1919 by the merger of three Dutch companies, and the firm's headquarters

established in Moordrecht. By the late 1920's, hand-knotted carpets were made only at the

Rotterdam mill. It closed in 1979.
