#10917 12"x14" African basket-drum, bundle coiled grass sewn with palm and covered with a spotted animal hide, country of origin unknown as of yet, 1st half 20thC, family folk lore of the previous owner was that the hide was hyena, but I'm not sure, baskets covered in hide could be upturned and used upside down as a drum, minor damage to the hide covering, but in general good strong condition $250.00

Baskets with hide on the bottom could be used upside down as a drum.
