#10903 38"x75" Antique Chimayo rug, hand woven of fine 4 ply Germantown yarns, SW United States, early 20thC, a top of the line example of Spanish American weaving, there was a brisk cottage industry of blanket weaving in Northern New Mexico in the early 20thC, farmers who had looms in their homes, wove mainly in the winter months, sometimes the whole family would be involved in this home industry, the blankets would be sold to traders such as J. S. Candelario in the Spring, general good condition, red, black, and ivory $985.00
