#12903 22"x14" Chinese wooden pony saddle, carved wood enhanced with red paint, stingray skin, and inlaid mother of pearl, metal rings for securing the saddle to the horse, acquired in Shanxi Province which shares a boarder with inner Mongolia, 19thC, very good condition, 22in x 14", #12903 $995.00

A pile saddle cover has holes reinforced with leather for straps to pass through.

The wooden saddle would rest on the horses back, the pile rug used to protect the horse.

Straps would pass through the leather bound holes and through the metal rings, then passed under the horses belly.
