#5456 3.1x4.11 Scandinavian Rya rug, hand knotted wool, mid 20th Century Modern Design, Swedish, c.1960 or a little earlier, deep pile shag, near mint condition, from a distance, the rug appears to be splashes of red, rose, pink, tangerine, burnt orange, yellow, and ivory paint thrown on a black canvas, but up close you can see that the weaver has chosen more than one color yarn to tie each knot, which creates a variegated look, even the black background is flecked with shades of teal, purple and grey, a lot of love and pride went into making this rug, would also make a dramatic wall hanging $495.00
